Domino LDAP and HTTP Server Integration proble

Our application architecture is as follows,

Websphere as the Application server,
IBM HTTP server as Web server,
Lotus Domino as the LDAP server.

All of them run on a AS/400 V4R4 System

The problem we are having we are having is the Lotus stops responding to the LDAP call quite often and we have to start the servers again and again.

and the Web browser gives

Error 500
The Domino for IBM HTTP Connector detected an error. Diagnostic information:
DOMIHTTP-004 DOMIHTTP Service function can not execute due to previous except.
