Hi all,

Pls help me with this domain name question.

We have already registered the domain name mycompany.com with InterNic. Now we want to set up several other web servers for names support.mycompany.com, partners.mycompany.com, products.mycompany.com, hr.mycompany.com. I was told that I don't have to register each of these domains with InterNIC again. All we need is to modify the DNS.

Is it really the case? What records should we add to the DNS? AX?

Any on-line reference on this subject?

thanks.

If they're the same IP, then you need to add CNAME records.

If they're different IP's, then you need to add A records.

Who's doing your DNS for you?

Thanks for the info.

Actually our ISP is handling the DNS stuff for us for the time being while we are setting up our own.
