I moved our agency intranet from one Win 2000 server to another Win 2000 and edited the AD group policy at the top domain default level to point to the new address at:

USER CONFIGURATION
WINDOWS SETTINGS
INTERNET EXPLORER MAINTENANCE
URLS
IMPORTANT URLS to
Most of our 160+ WinXP / Win2K machines picked up the new address but about thirty Win2K did not. I started manually changing them at the local level (browser, options) but some of those have started pointing back to the original server. I edited the only OU policy also but that hasn't changed anything. I don't use blocks, overrides, or local policies. All non-administrators are restricted users. Any ideas?

This suggests that you have a replication problem in your Sysvol. One of your DC's has the old policy and the rest have the new policy.

Install the support tools on one of your DC's and use the "gpotool" to determine which server is out of sync.

gpotool /v /domain:yourdomain.com

Governments and corporations need people like you and me. We are samurai. The keyboard cowboys. And all those other people out there who have no idea what's going on are the cattle. Mooo! --Mr. The Plague, from the movie "Hackers

Thanks. We have some mismatches, three to be exact. Now comes the fun part where I try to replicate the good ones over the bad.
