Earlier this week, for some sudden reason, we began
experiencing browsing difficulties in our NT4 domain.
The problem is that only our PDC can be seen in Network
Neighborhood and not any of our 20 clients. I have
stopped and started the DHCP and WINS services to no
avail. I have used browstat.exe and it appears that it
can't find the master browser. The output from browstat
is as follows:
Browsing is active on domain.
Master name cannot be determined from GetAdaptorStatus
Master browser is running build 1381
- The rest of the output looks normal.
I can only assume that the server is no longer the master
browser but I could be wrong. Does anyone know how I can
get things working again?
We have 10 Windows 2000 Pro, 9 Windows NT4 Workstation
and 1 Windows 98 machine on the network.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
