Domain Admin Group accounts are being locked out

All of the members of our Domain Admin and Administrator Groups are being locked out. What could be doing this?

On Wed. Night we replaced a WinNt 4.0 BDC with a W2K DC at one of our sites. Since the installation of Backup Exec. 8.6, and the creation of its Logon Account we have been having the above stated problem. I think that it has something to do with this Backup account since it is part of both groups and the problem did not start until this account was created. The account was created by Backup Exec. 8.6, as with all backup accounts it was added to the Admin groups, both Domain and Built-In.

Has anyone else had this problem? What should I check?

I have deleted this account and recreated it with no success. At least I do not know if it was successful, the lockouts do not occur in any predictable pattern.


Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Seems like a serious bug !!!

Reinstall your service pack and see if it is still the case.

What happens when you unlock your accounts? When are they locked again?

I have re-Installed Sevice Pack 3, that did not fix it.

We have our account lock outs set for 3 Bad trys. But this is locking every member of two Groups.

I suggest you post this to Veritas. See if they can come up with an answer.

That is weird. All I can suggest off hand is to turn on Auditing and see if that gives any clues.
