Doesnt boot right into XP

I installed XP and it gives me 2 options before booting right into XP. The first is to boot into MS windowsXP and the other is to boot into MS windows. When I choose the latter it gives me a DOS prompt. Is there a way to make it just boot into XP without formatting?

Right click on My Computer, Properties, Advanced tab, Startup and Recovery Settings button, click the Edit button. Remove the listing for MS windows. When you're done it should look something like this:

timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
