Does VNS work with Vista? 2

I have to purchase a new system for someone I help remotely.

I use VNC and there is no other alternative (that I am aware of) unless it works with java.

Does anyone have any reports if VNC works with Vista?

The answer seems to be "maybe". Sounds like you may want to keep checking that you have the latest version available.

I am using VNC 4 on my Vista machine with no problem. I had to change ports on the VNC server but it worked with no problem. I had to change the port to 5920 and the java port to 5820. It was weird and no reason for the work around but it worked nonetheless, I found the answer in some blog or forum someplace but I know it does work. You just have to login using the port number so it'll look like \\192.168.1.1:5920 or http:\\192.168.1.1:5820
