Hi,
I have upgraded our web server from a Win 2000; IIS 5.0 to Win 2003; IIS 6.0. I have noticed a huge change in performance? My Questions are:
1. Does IIS 6 or windows 2003 require more hardware resources?
2. Is there is a certain procedure to check and tune the web site performance after the upgrade?

Thank you in advance for answering or refering KB articles that address this issue.

It's Nice to Be Important But It's more Important to BE Nice

It's possible you now have the IIS Lockdown ISAPI filter installed, and is slowing down the requests for additional security.

could also depend on the hardware of the server, if you had win2k you might have had above minimum specs for the OS, but for 2k3 you might be just at or just short of the minimum specs, which in turn would degredate the performance of the machine due to the OS, validate you have all min hardware specs covered as well as baddos's note
