Can anyone advise whether the following 1000T ethernet adapters provides "PROMISCUOUS MODE SUPPORT" ?
These are IBM part number reference.
P/N 31P6301 - NetXtreme 1000T Ethernet Adapter
P/N 31P6401 - NetXtreme 1000T Dual Port Ethernet Adapter
They should be Broadcom 570x based adapters.
Searching through IBM support site and Boradcom site does not find much details.

Is it a hardware feature, or it depends on the drivers? Looking into the drivers files from IBM support site does not tell about supporting this mode.

Appreciate any pointers

Promiscuous mode is not a good idea for any server, since it allows the system to receive every packet, not only those targeted to the MAC address of the adapter. I'm not sure it even applied to Ethernet - the only references I recall seeing for Promiscuous Mode apply to receiving all packets on the ring (Token Ring).
