I just installed a new Sony Pressa CD-RW Model CRX 1611 ( 16x,8x, 40x) on my PC ( Win 98 SE, Celeron 900, 512 MB RAM) . I planned to use the program < Roxio Direct CD v5.02b > to write files to CD-RW discs . The problem was that DirectCD did not see the CD-RW drive : it indicated that there was no supported drive when I started the program .
I checked the set-up and every thing appeared OK because the CRX 1611 can read CD-R and CD-RW discs.

My questions are :

1) Does DirectCD v5.02b support Sony Pressa CRX 1611 ?

2) If it does, then why do I get this message ?

3) Please advise what should I do next to get things going ? Please note that I got no problem with DirectCD and the Sony Pressa CRX 140E ( i.e. 8x, 4x, 32x) in my previous PC .

Thank you,

Thanks ,chipdip, for the tip. But I got the latest version v5.02b which supposes to support Sony CRx 1611 ! The engine even failed to initialize with Roxio Easy CD Creator Platinum !! Finally, I unloaded this miserable, bloated software and used "Nero Burning Rom v5.5.5.4" which worked like a charm ! Bye Roxio forever !
