hi, some body can help me? I bought all the components for a computer, and the motherboard is a kt266, msi, is for a thunderbird, uses ddr memory, the case is a simbadda c550, my problem is that I put together the computer and when I tried to turn it on, nothing happened, the power supply seems dead, but I know is not because the motherboard has a set of diagnosis lights and they are on, so I know there is electricity going to the mother board, could this be the power suppy? or the power switch? please help

Power switch on the front of the case plugs into a power on header on the M/B. That is all it takes if nothing is munged. Ed Fair

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply.

Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

I have seen that happen with pc's when the cpu is not inserted fully or has a bad connection. b-)

Hi, thanks for the help, just so you know, the problem with the computer not powering on was a defective modem, what I did was I took the motherboard out of the case and plugged it outside, it worked, then I screwed it in the case, it worked, then I installed the memory.. it worked, then I installed the graphic card, it worked, then the sound card, it worked, but when I inserted the modem, it didnt work, that is how I realized it was the motherboard.
PROBLEM SOLVED, THANKS FOR THE ADVISE, WE ARE LEARNING TOGHETER.
