It's been a while since I tried emailing from Access. Is it still necessary to put a report in Word before it can be emailed? The report I want to email has horizontal and vertical lines on it separating columns and rows. Will RTF in Word process those lines correctly so that the emailed report is received looking exactly as I sent it.
Any suggestions would be helpful and heartily welcomed.
Thank you,
Jerry D.

When using the .rtf format, a great deal of formatting can be lost.

Suggestion:
1. to send an email, use Send Object and review the following ----
2. Also, you can use Snapshot viewer. Check the following

Does a computer receiving an email item in Snapshot format need the snapshot viewer to open the document? Can I email an Access report to just about anyone in snapshot and they will be able to open it without an "add ins" or downloading any viewers? Do they have to have Access to open a snapshot? Thank you for your help. I will check out the SendObject possibility for sending email from Access.
Thanks for the help,
Jerry

Just to let you know, in the current virus fraught climate, most companies strictly prohibit downloads, so any advice involving downloading something is probably not going to be useful. Where I work no downloads are allowed, in fact if we use non-standard software, we can be fired.

gazolba,

That's an excellent point to mention. Fortunately, for me, I don't have that problem and didn't even think of it. However, I would think that someone in an orgaization should be able to download (maybe someone in IT). They could download, check (scan) it for a virus. If no virus is found, then make a copy to give to others.
