Does database agents need to be installed on media server

I am new to backup exec I am BrightStor user


In brightstor Arcserve we use to install the database agents on machine having the database
eg: if have exchange server then I need to install brightStor exchange agent on Exchange server.

but in backup exec documentation it mentioned that exchange agent has to be installed on backup server(media server)


Please confirm whether all database agent like Oracle, exchange , sql need to be installed on media server then enntering the licenses in media server for all database agent.

That is correct all agents and licenses must be installed on the media server.

The only things that go on the remote servers, Are the Remote Agent, Open File Option, if the server is Oracle, the Oracle Client, and if the server is SAP, the SAP client.
