Documents in My Documents have replication symbols

In a network environment, I changed the target of My Documents in one work station to "u:\". Next thing I realized was that every document inside My Documents has the replication symbol and at every login and logout, the system synchronizes. I did the same thing on other workstations without replication. What did I do wrong?
