A good 4GL book is Programming Informix SQL/4GL: A Step-by-step Approach by Cathy Kipp.
It's published by Informix press. view it here:
along with other books. I especially like Flannery's Informix Handbook although it's a bit pricey.
You might be able to find it on the web cheaper - say at amazon.com.
