When opening a document in Excel, doesn't matter if u double click on it or go file open it always opens two of the same file.

and names them:

excelfile.xls 1
excelfile.xls 2

Any ideas???

linzwhittles,

It seems that at some point you opened the file in two separate windows within one session and then saved the file that way. When you open the file again, go to the window menu and click on arrange, cascade. Then close one of the windows maximum the other one and resave the file. After you close it and reopen it, you will find that you have only one file with one window in it.

Hope this helps.
