Hi everyone, i did a misstake, and i hope it could be corrected,

i have a user on a winxp pro, and i deleted that user from administrative tools/Computer Management/local user and gorup/user.. and i created a new user ,

and i wanted to copy all the settings from the old user (the one i deleted, to the new user, i could the folder , but i can't access it , its telling me , permission is denied, i tried that logging in as administrator, and as the new user, and it failed in both ways,

is there anyways i could access that folder ?? any help will be greatly appreciated, and any resources, ,,

Thanks alot,

Max

Are you running with NTFS? If so try these.

Log in as Administrator.

Switch off "Use Simple File Sharing" in Folder Options/ View. This will give you access to the Security Tab of the Folder. Make sure the Administrator has Full Control in the security permissions.

If no luck with that, try this.

HOW TO: Take Ownership of a File or Folder in Windows XP (Q308421)

You could always add the username back from where you removed it. Then look at My Computer/ Properties/ Advanced/ User Profiles/ Settings, and see if you can copy it there.
