Is there a way to perminitly dock the properties and command window in FoxPro. I have used version 6 and 7 and will soon be going to 8 (as soon as the release the full, anyone have any idea of when that will be also ?) anyway, it seems no matter what I try when I close out of Foxpro do something and then go back in the windows are undocked once again. I alway find myself having to dock them on the side. I know this is not a actual forum question but is sure does annoy me lol.

VFP 6.0 didn't have a dockable command or property window and it appears 8.0 does properly remember this information, so your only real problem will be with VFP 7.0. Note: The only "official" information on 8.0, is Ken Levy's statement of "early next year. In MS speak, that likely means before July 2003!

Darn on the next year, was looking to possibly purchase it before the budget reset this year :(

In VFP 7.0, right click on the title bar of each window (Command, Properties) and check "Dockable". Then dock window. Exit FoxPro. When you re-launch FoxPro, it should be where you left it. If not, I'm assuming that you don't have a resouce file set (or it may be in use by another FoxPro session).

Hope that helps,

James,
I notice that if I have the three dockable system windows (docked or not) in a tabbed setup, when I close 7.0, and then open it again, only the Command window comes up. In 8.0, this seems to have been fixed.

Wilfredo,
No, best speculation right now is February, March 2003! This is easily the most stable and complete beta that MS/the VFP team have ever produced, so it shouldn't take long to iron out the last bits.
