I have been making my sites all in FW. Is that not a good idea? My friend, well kinda friend does alot with Dreamweaver and he has used FW but likes to use Image Ready with Photo Shop more. I like FW but should I just use Dreamweaver and then import lots of parts and pieces to make the site and pages instead of making all of it in FW then exporting to DW?
I get alot of opinions on what a web PAGE's size should be, any advice out there? Some of mine are 60kB to 120kB. I tend to not notice how slow the download when testing since I have a cable modem.
Thanks in advance for any advice!!

doing sites completely in Fireworks is not a bad idea if you have 90% images and little or no text. However the problem is that Fireworks is making an image out of your text which does increase file size dramatically. I recommend building graphics in a graphics program such as Fireworks and then letting a Hardcore HTML program like Dreamweaver or Homesite handle the text and putting it all together.

Dreamweaver and Fireworks were designed to work closely together like a good marriage and consequently shine the brightest when each is doing what it does best.

Great advise, never came to mind about adding the text in DW after designing it in FW. Thanks for the input, oh and i like your church's site!

There are a feweffects in Fireworks that witha bit of effort, you can duplciate in Dreamweaver. For example, a nice effect is to have a complex rollover which include text. eg, you roll your mouse over an image, and text belwo it changes. Nice. But when you export it, it is weighty.

This same effect can be done in Dreamweaver. Its not as simple, but it can be done use text boxes and style sheets. Download times are MUCH faster.

Trya sking someone in Dreamweaver Forum on how to do it.
