HI fellows..I guess it is a common problem, but I do not really know how to solve it.
The thing is I'm trying to use Winsock control on a form. everytime I try it Visual BAsic .Net gives the error "You do not have the license to use this ActiveX control" and Visual B. 6.0 tells me "License information for this component can not be found, you do not have the appropriate license to use this functionality in the design environment".
I already tried service packs and nothing worked. tried registering MSWINSCK.OCX and did not work.
Is there anything else I can do to make it work?

Which version of VB6 are you using? AFAIK Winsock is only licensed on Professional and Enterprise eversions

After running regsvr32 on mswinsck.ocx and comcat.dll you must double click on winsock.reg . This is the actual licensing part. You may also need MSWINSCK.OCA installed in the system dir.

If all else fails, and you do in fact have a legitimate license to use the product on the recalcitrant machine, you can often go to a machine that works properly, find the license in the registry, and manually create the same license key in the target machine.
