Under System/Advanced there is an option NOT to use a page file. If I upgrade my RAM to a ridiculus amount, say 1.5 GB (my mobo limit), would I see a big difference speed-wise?

Speed depends in conjuctions with RAM and MHz...
So if you have like 500MHz and 1.5GB of RAM, you won't see that much diff... I have not failed; I have merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

Hi,

There is a option

System -> Advanced -> (Performance) Settings -> Advanced > (Virtual Memory) -> Change -> No pagaing File

> Would I see a big difference speed-wise?

Nope unless you use excess amounts of ram. Best way to tell is to 'load' your system up. Ie. If you usually play Quake 3 load quake 3 up and hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and see how much memory you are using in a major fragging session. If you are using more memory than you physically have then upgrade.

More memory will of course give more memory for caching etc - but if you don't use memory excessively you won't see the speed difference.

I recentely upgraded from 256 - 512 meg. Do I see the difference? Nope - well not until I open a huge file in Adobe Photoshop and do some work on it - at that point the difference was huge.
