hello,
I'm going to be soon putting in a TN2181 into our Definity PBX for the first time, which is making me have to go shopping for some 2-wire compatible digital phones. I've decided that I like the 8410D and 8411D model of phones. I'm seeing some places that say that the 8411D required a power supply ("Requires 1151B1 Power Supply"/"require a 48VDC power supply") and for the 8410D I'm not seeing where people say they need a power supply to work.
What I'm wondering is
(1) Does the 8410D need a power supply to function 100%/at all? If so where can I buy one?
(2) Will the 8411D work at all without a power supply, i.e., it'll have some functionality, or does it require a power supply to have dial tone, and if so where I can I buy the power supply?

thanks in advance,
david

8410d do not require a power supply unless you are using a 513 headset adapter. I would be looking at the 6408D+ or the 6416D+ (much better) or the 2420 series, but that cost a little more.

yimmer,
hello,
Thank you for the info. So the 8411D won't work at all (no dial tone or caller id) if you don't have the power supply, but the 8410D's have dial tone and caller id without needing a power supply?
I have looked online at the 6408d & 6416d's but can't find a good deal on a bulk lot of them.
thanks,
david
