Our site is talking about running a DNS. We are also planning on migratiating to Win2000. Do we have to run Microsoft DNS or can we use Bind on a Unix platform?
Anoither thought would be to put all 2000 servers in it own Zone on 2000 box and all clients use a Unix box. Is this a smart thing to do?
Is using Bind an item that can work but we are better off running 200 DNS?

We are still a NT4 shop. Don't have any expirience running a 2000 shop but know it does require a DNS.
Any advise and opions are appreciated.

My suggestions are what I would try myself. If incorrect, I welcome corrections to my knowledge.

You can run Windows 2000 and use a Bind/UNIX DNS version , as long as it
- supports Resource Records
- supports dynamic updates

I have not failed, I just found 10000 ways that don't work
