We have dns server on mutihomed computer with windows 2000 server. i have binded the dns server with all available IP addresse, one is private and 1 is public. all zone are standard primary type. the network configuration for the networks as follows
1. netwrok card connected to local lan with local dns ip address
2. NIC with public IP and binded to the external dns IP

i enabled forwaders also in my dns server .

whats happening is dns start working fine for some time and later it stops to work.but there are no dns errors in the event viewer.if i give command ipconfig /registerdns it is starting again.is it happening because of cache dns full?? or any windiows 2000 problem ?

pl help me in this regard

TIA

change the Primary DNS on the Public NIC to the internal IP. As long as your internal IP is routing properly and is able to forward DNS queries out through your public NIC, there's no need for the public NIC to be bound elsewhere.

thank you for prompt reply, but that too did not work. i had and have been doing the same . Any thing else will work????

tnx
