I have successfully installed DNS on my novell server. Here is the problem: We have a VPN and our internet site address is abcdef.com which resides on a workstation here in the office, because of our Cisco VPN if a user was to type "abcdef.com" in their browser at the office it would not go to or find our site. They would have to type in the internal ip address of the site for them to access it. I was told that there is a way to setup DNS on our Novell 5.1 server and create some kind of link, split dns or crossreference to the internal IP address that abcdef.com resides on. Does anyone have any ideas how to accomplish this. Thanks!

have you set the dns up yet
ie installed it onto the server
you can check by looking in nwconfig - it will show up in install programes
check this first
once installed - run the setup from the dnsdhcp (or something like that in the sys:public/mgmt)
preferably not client 4.9 or you will need to make sure it's version3

Yes I have the Dns working, I changed the dns settings in windows on my workstation and I can bring up websites. What I would like to do is be able to have modify the novell dns so that when I enter in abcdef.com it would look at my reference for that site(the internal ip address) instead of going outside our network.

on the zone
right click server object and set the forwarding address

Thanks terry712, but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right could you be a little more specific. I open the DNS/DHCP Management Console and click on the DNS object at the bottom of the screen. It then displays all info on our DNS at the top. It shows Zones/Forwarding List/No Forward List/ Options. I entered in the IP address of the workstation here in the office in the Forwarding List but it didn't work.

Thanks
