My windows 2000 DNS server is adding hosts by itself. The hosts are my internal dhcp clients. If I delete them then they come back. Any ideas? This server is my primary DNS server.

Thanks.

Seems you have dynamic updates configured - ie DHCP updates DNS with its records. This is not a bad thing - basically with this setup you can use DNS for all name resolution in your network and can get rid of WINS as this replaces it completely.
On the other hand, to remove this:
"To configure the server to never update client information, open the DHCP properties for the DHCP server or one of its scopes on the Windows 2000 DHCP server, click the DNS tab, click Properties, and then clear the Automatically update DHCP client information in DNS check box." -
