I have a W2K DC w/DNS up and running.

It also serves as an RRAS server for non-modem VPN connects.

My FRS event log shows no errors but, below is the error: 6702 DNS from DNS log.

....DNS Server has updated its own host (A) records. In order to insure that its DS-integrated peer DNS servers are able to replicate with this server, an attempt was made to update them with the new records through dynamic update. An error was encountered during this update, the record data is the error code....

I think it's erroring 'cos of the IP of the RRAS listener. I think it's ok with the regular LAN network IP.

Question: How do I turn off the DNS registration on that RRAS interface?

Thanks.

Look at the advanced TCP/IP properties of the adapter and uncheck "register this adapters addresses in DNS".

May also need to look at DHCP and see if it is set to regester the client in DNS as well.
