Hello,

I am upgrading our domain from NT to Win2000.
I will install WinNT on a temporaty machine as a BDC. Then I will promote it to PDC and upgrade it to Win2000. I will set up AD and DNS on it.
I would like to later install a new real server with Windows 2000 and move the DNS from the temporary machine to the new one.
How can I do this "move", or is it better to just install the DNS on the new machine and just remove/uninstall the old one?
Thanks!

Well you will need DNS when you move to an AD environment. For when you bring in your new machine, what you can always do is promote it as a domain controller and change your DNS to an Active-directory integrated.

FYI on how to do this-
