I am considering design for our internal DNS in preparation for an upgrade to W2k AD form NT4. Presently have about a dozen domains, and less than 10,000 users on our MAN. Thought is to have one domain for W2K and delegate management through OU's. Would be helpful to have DNS names for each of the 10 buildings (current NT domains)that would reflect the location. Thus, we could have name that provides a geographic description: ie., priniter_23.bldg_a.xyz.org. Would such a structure mean multiple domains, or can the various buildings append their prefix to one domain? Can these be zones of one domain? Thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Hi

Yes it can be zones of one domain as long as it can talk to each other.
