Guys...
Quick couple of questions - have a situation on my LAN at home where there are two entries for DNS on each client - first points at local network for my DNS server - this is to resolve internal names etc, second entry points and my firewall/router which is configured with a dns address on the web...
My prob is as follows - unless I enter the full string, ie " for most web site addresses my lookups will time out - I can't see thi being anything to do with root hints - Could it be something to do with recursion?
Also on a slightly different note - anyone know if I can choose on a DNS server if it does just iterative queries or does it always attempt a recersive?
Any help appreciated
