I need to solve this problem ASAP. I have posted this question before on this forum, got some responces but none of them gave me a complete solution.
I am running Windows Server 2003 Small Business Ed. and using it as a DNS and web server (later plan on using it for a mail server as well). Right now, the domain uptechusa.net is being used as the domain and ns1.uptechusa.net is the name of the DNS server. It is hard to explain everything all over again, so here is the thread that I posted before:
Basically, the point I am at now is that the DNS server keeps changing the DNS entry for ns1.uptechusa.net from the remote ip address to the local IP address found on the server.
the remote IP is: 65.40.8.203
local ip is: 192.188.66.20
when I manually change the ns1.uptechusa.net value to 65.40.8.203....everything works perfectly! but within 3 to 5 mins. the server changes back to 192.188.66.20! I also tried something else. I connected the server directly to the DSL modem and set the proper IP settings. It works without a problem and never changes the IP. Please help with this issue...thanks to all that reply.
