Our website is with a hosting company, but we host our own e-mail server; our web hosts manage our MX records for us.
I have been considering hosting our own MX records on a couple of name servers since we had a bit of an issue with ours hosts being too slow to correct a fault. Assuming that these servers are geographically seperated and redundancy is in place, how complicated is it to configure and maintain basic Name Servers?

Carlsberg don't run I.T departments, but if they did they'd probably be more fun.
