DNS failing after adding static IP on 2nd NIC

Running Windows server 2003 with DNS and Active Directory.
I use a Comcast commercial router/modem as my connection to the Internet.
I recently added a static IP on a second NIC on my server.
Now Active Dir is failing because DNS is failing because it can't resolve the server name, except by going out the static IP nic to the Internet.
Tried everything I could think of, totally hosed.
Any help/advice would be appreciated.

The host 7f0654e9-904f-4d18-8dd5-2ab47fd7945a._msdcs.tirnanogloc.com could not be resolved to an
IP address. Check the DNS server, DHCP, server name, etc
Although the Guid DNS name (7f0654e9-904f-4d18-8dd5-2ab47fd7945a._msdcs.tirnanogloc.com) couldn't be resolved, the server name (athena.tirnanogloc.com) resolved to the IP address
(70.89.138.53) and was pingable. Check that the IP address is registered correctly with the DNS server.

rickhan,

it sounds as if you haven't set up your service providers dns servers on your network, if you are running ISA server then you will have to use the connection wizard to set the dns forwarders or set the dns forwarders in DNS. also are your settings right on the second nic?
