Hi pls help
when I am trying to configure my DNS Server its showing error as SERFAIL what is the cause can any one help me
my host name is linuxmail,domainname is tata.com FQN linuxmail.tata.com
what to be written in Resolve.conf.?
what to write in forword.zone and reverse.zone
pls help

SERFAIL is most likely a reference to the serial number of the zone file that appears within the zone file itself. These have a specific structure.

There's no way this forum should begin to address the concepts behind configuring a DNS server properly.

You should look this up and read extensively before you play about with DNS.

Are you sure you don't mean SERVFAIL?
