Hi there

I have been trying to network my playstation 2 wirelessly for a few days now, i have succeded with a direct direct connection but not the wireless, i am getting a dns error when i test the connection, i have made some progress entering the i.p etc of my wireless router but i still get the same error.

my isp is bt and i already have my playstation portable connected to the wireless router.

i am also using a belkin wireless adapter to connect to the wireless router.

any guidance woud be much appreciated - Thank You!

What's the DNS error you are getting? And does the PlayStation have the ability to ping other addresses? I mean, did Sony build that functionality into the unit?

the dns error is a dns server error, im pretty sure its dns server not found - i will have to find out as i dont have access to it right now, when i connected the ps2 using the ethernet cable, it sailed through the ping test so i dont think there will be any problenms with that, im also awaiting my isp's support on the matter.

Thanks for the reply ShackDaddy

Are you using the router's DHCP to pull an IP for your PS? If so, it's important that you've also configured your router with a couple of DNS server addresses so that those addresses can be handed to the PS via DHCP when the PS pulls an IP.

If you are setting the IP manually in the PS, you will have to set the DNS addresses manually as well. If I were you, I'd try to go with manual settings, unless your ISP requires login.

should i connect my wireless adapter to the router via ethernet & configure it before i try to connect it wirelessly??

i dont usually need to log in to my isp!

i have tried 2 set the dns manually but there is still the sane error - im getting all the addresses from the router manager!

this isnt realy my area of expertise - i dont eve know what a DHCP is.

Cheers for the reply ShackDaddy!!
