I want to create a alias for my OWA. like right now to access OWA, I type exchange.test.com/exchange in IE

I want my internal users to just type "webmail" in IE, that takes them to exchange.test.com/exchange ( here they get login window)
Am I missing something here? I created a cname "webmail" in my DNS and type in FDQN for target host "exchange.test.com/exchange"

side note:My exchange 2003 is not on my DC

thanks

You need to setup:

-a DNS entry for webmail.<domain> that will resolve to your web server

-a virtual site in IIS that re-directs to http<s>://<domain>/exchange

-a host header value for the virtual site with the value of
"webmail.<domain>" in IIS.

BTW, unless running SBS, M$ does not support running exchange on a DC

could you type in the exact text? My domain is test.com

1: I created a Host for webmail and give the address 10.10.10.3 ( thats IP of my IIS server, name of my IIS server is "exchange")

2: Created a website, webmail and redirects to exchange.test.com/exchange

3: created the host header as you described.

No luck :(

Thanks all, issue is resolved with the steps you provided.
