Here is the setup
I had an External DNS named NS1.xxx.com with an IP address of 12.x.x.x. and the domain is registered with Network solutions.
I installed a new Internal DNS named NS2.xxx.com with an IP address of 192.x.x.x ,both are WIndows 2003 DNS
Everything worked fine

We decided to let our ISP host our External DNS so I turned off the External DNS and added our ISP DNS as a forwarder on the Internal 192.x.x.x DNS

Now we can not send email out to some sites like mailin-01.mx.aol.com or FTP to certain sites. I can however do an nslookup on those sites from my Internal 192.x.x.x DNS and they IP address is resolved.

If I turn back on the External 12.x.x.x DNS then everything works fine again. It has been this way for several weeks.

I have Root Hints and the Name Server is the hostname =servername.my companiesdomain.com
We also called IBM since we use Lotus and they said that we have no PTR record for our domain, and if a host has reverse lookups enabled then it will fail to establish connection with our mail server

What am I missing?
Thank you in advance

What kind of error messages are you getting? Event logs? Good luck.
