We are using a 2000 server with AD and DNS and we have named our internal domain the same as our internet domain, how do we set up the DNS to go the internet page when we type it in the browser.

eg.

internal domain = cats
internet home page =
or have we really screwed up??

No you haven't really screwed up. On your DC go into dns and in the forward lookup zones highlight cats.com. Right click and create a new host. The name will be the ip address will be your webservers address. After that, your internal clients should resolve the web address correctly.

One thing I did not mention is that we are also using ISA server, and MS firewall client to control web access. If we disable ISA we can access the web page. So your fix has worked (Thanks a lot) but now we have another problem can you give any more assistance.

I just answer to a similar question, and the procedure is longer, so I wil give yo just the thread,a dn you can read it:
DHCP - Advice moving from public to private IP scope.

This does not resolve the ISA server problem we have, We can connect to the web page fine through the DNS as long as we do not use the ISA server. Do you have any other ideas.

Thanx

First of all make your DNS zones to have both a "cats.com" domain.
You were not saying anything about your webserver. Where is that server? Where is located? In the external network or in the internal network? How many addresses (public IP) you have.
"We can connect to the web page fine through the DNS as long as we do not use the ISA server."
Who is "we"? Frome where o where you were trying to connect?
