DNS confusion

All,

I have a bit of a confusing issue.

I have 3 PC`s which have caused us some issue. Ages ago we had a new DC installed (works as DNS server too).

Recently 3 PC`s lost connection to the Domain - and it seems the DNS are pointing to the old server.

How can this have happened? Why now etc?

Do you have multiple DHCP servers on the network, and could one be configured to hand out the old DNS server addresses?

Were they assigned static or dynamic IP addresses?
