DNS Cache (Root Nameservers) keep deleting

I haven't had to set up DNS in a while. So, I am adding another NT server and got DNS all up and running, then transfered files from an existing box. All the zones transferred over fine, but the cache of root nameservers keep deleting (ie the list of root name servers in the cache.dns file keep clearing when I stop and then restart the DNS service). I looked at the registry entries and the location of the cache file looks right, and the two machines registry entries are otherwise the same. Any help appreciated.

I figured it out. If you transfer the cache file into the dns folder and then turn the DNS service off then back on again it save the blank cache to the cache.dns file. So, you have to stop the DNS service, transfer the file, and then restart the service to prevent the blank data from overwriting the cache data.
