DNS and W2K

I'm having a problem adding a server to my domain, which PDC is a NT4. The new server is running W2K and I had to change the name of the server, which resulted in pulling it off the network, changing it to a workgroup, then changing the name, and now trying to add it back into the network. There is where the problem lies- it won't let me access join the domain and claiming "the problem may be caused by the DNS lookup" When I went to the E.V. to see what the problem is, the message reads- "The DNS server machine currently has no DNS domain name. It's DNS name is a single label hostname with no domain." I'm almost positive it is setup up correctly cause I copied it exactly as configured on my other server. We have one other W2K server in this domain and it is configured the same way, and had no problem adding that one to the domain. Can anyone help?? Please let me know if you need any extra info.
