Hello all-
First ever post!
I have a co-worker who is connecting to a clients server. He is doing this via a VPN connection. Here is the deal, he has to get out of our network and get into the other network and its firewall. He used to work for the client and knows all of the IP addresses of the servers he is trying to connect to. However he has to set it up every time he wants to communicate with it. Is there a way to config our DNS so everytime he puts in fake.url.us.ca.co it automatically associates it as IP address 12.34.567.89?

If hes using the same pc/computer each time you could put a manual entry into the host file on that pc/computer to point to that file.

If he knows all the IP's of the servers why does he need to use DNS at all?

You could setup some manual A record entry on your DNS server to point to the IP you want to.

Your question on what your trying todo is abit unclear.

Yes, I am sorry for the ambiguity. I really dont know too much about this stuff.
He is VPNing in to the clients network to get through the clients firewall. Once inside, via VPN, what should I do in order for him to maintain communication with that particular server?

Is he losing connection with their servers? What sort of communcation problems is he having at the moment?

Whats he trying todo once on their network, rdp to their server, ssh? Once VPN into the client network he should be able to connect to their servers unless they have some sort of policy/firewall not allowing it.

Faithless' suggestion about the hosts file is probably your best bet. I have my host file modified so that I have no problems when I VPN to any of about 10 networks.
