Im having trouble getting one domain to recognize an alias made in a trusted domain. The alias is saturn but it does not work if I use the full name saturn.stdwi.local as part of the address then it does work. Can anyone help

Saturn, I was trying to help you in the other forum/thread and I guess you got impatient or something.

Like I said in the other thread, you need to get your forwarders set up correctly. You could also hand out suffixes via GPO. You could even set up zone transfers, but since you've said you're not all that familiar with DNS, I was just trying to give you a simple solution.

Just do what I said in the other thread, and that should work for you.

Just read the other thread. If the "other" DNS server knows about the saturn domain, just adding a CNAME to the domain of the "other" side will fix it. So essentially.

In the "other" domain:

saturn IN CNAME saturn.stdwi.local.
