I have 3 AT&T long distance T1's going into 1 trunk group. Tied to these lines are 10 800 numbers assigned by AT&T. I know that when AT&T hands the trunk group a call they send DNIS digits before the caller so my switch knows what to do with the call. I need to be able to capture the DNIS digits and transmit this to the LCD screen of operator phones so they know which 800 number is calling. Currently all that displays on the op lcd is the name of the trunk group. I know that without in-band ani I cannot see the caller id but all I want is to send the DNIS digits being sent which is essentially the VDN. So once again how do I display the DNIS or VDN digits rather than the trunk group name on the operators lcd screen?

In your VDN for each 800 number you will find a "VDN of Origin Annc. Extension" you could put an announcement to alert the csr of the type of call. Folks I need a little help on how to finish this setup. At least it's a push in the direction you want to go. So many buttons So little time
Thanks All

Hi, make sure that each of your 10 "800" numbers does in fact have its own DNIS. I had a few "800" numbers which pointed to the same DNIS. Our Marketing Dept. was happy that they had a separate number to publish but I was unable to measure or split the call load locally.

Assign each DNIS its own VDN with the appropriate Naming convention that you would like displayed on their LCD and set " Allow VDN Override?" to "N". The LCD output should look something like this:

xxxxxx to nnnnnn

(Where x's = Trunk Group Name and n's = VDN Name)

Note, the Trunk Group Name should remain the same in your scenario however; the VDN Name should change accordingly.

Good Luck!

Allow VDN Override? — This entry affects the operation of an agent’s display and certain options/data assigned to the VDN when a call is routed through several VDNs. If it is set to “n,” the name of this VDN appears on the agent’s display. If any subsequent VDNs are used to process this call, their names will not appear on the terminating display. If the field is set to “y,” the name of the VDN appearing on the terminating display will depend on the administration and chaining of the subsequent VDNs. Default is “n.” For Expert Agent Selection (EAS), if this field is “y” on the original VDN, the Skills of the new VDN will be used. If this field is “n” on the original VDN, the Skills of the original VDN will be used.
