dll problems

I've been getting an error saying that a particular component has gone missing. I've gone into the components menu, found the culprit (without there being a "missing" next to it's name), browsed made sure the path to the component is correct. Unregistered and reregistered all my dll's and still I get the same error. What more can I do? I have also started a new group and loaded in the projects

with which tool did you unregister the component and what command did you use.

it's a dos based program, that we use to unregister and reregister dll's, not sure if my boss wrote it or if it's a shop bought product.
The problem has since been sorted, new versions of the dll's had to be copied on to my machine from elsewhere
