Divx in Premiere-No Sound

Hi,

I need to cut a divx movie in Premiere and I don't have any sound except for alarming noises.
Might it be that Premiere does not recognize my divx codec (which I have installed)? It works fine in Windows Movie Maker, but I am not going to use that. I am sure you see why.
So, is it a missing divx codec or does Premiere work with Divx at all?

Which divx codec do you have? The Divx Pro 5.0 or earlier versions?

Also, I personally do not edit divx in premiere. I demux it first then bring it into premiere.
