Hi everyone,

I modified several CR 8.5 reports to version 9. I see that there is no means to create the deployment files.

My problem is that they're not going to be accessed thru the Web. They were supposed to reside in the Server as the previous version did and the users will have a shortcut to them.

Is there is a way to create some deployment package?

I read something about RAS. Will this method help me?

I'm trying to avoid creating the reports all over in MS Access.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Hiya

Version 9 was released with a dinky little deployment program called RAS. It should be in the box with the CR originals. It allows for created reports to be saved into a network directoy, and then Report Users (not devlelopers) can access these using your intranet.

It's not brilliant, but at my last job, this was the method used to allow people to run reports without having CR loaded on their machine. Quite crude, but very effective.

Cheers

GV

Thank you both for your responses.

My Company will not buy a 3rd party software. I read about RAS but I think I'm missing something because didn't worked as planned.
