Hi. I have designed a number of CR's with CR XI - we need to be able to distribute the reports to end users who do not have CR installed on their machines. I am not in a position to purchase CR Server at this present time.

The data for the reports is held on a server based at a 3rd party site. The server is password protected (and I do not want to compromise security by giving passwords to each user) and also requires a VNC in order to access the data which requires another password. The data tables are on a SQL database. End users enter data via a web based interface.

Each individual will require separate reports with different data sets using refreshed data each time. Is there a program available (freeware or nominla cost) that I can install on each users machine that may be pre-programmed with the appropriate security access so they can run reports when they need to? Any help will be gratefully received and am happy to enter in to a dialogue to discuss further.

Thanks, Ade

Please clarify: do you need the users to be able to run reports against a secure data source without actually knowing the password for that data source. This is feasible, but I'd like to be sure this is what you are asking for.

view, e-mail, export, burst, distribute, and schedule Crystal Reports.

Thanks for your replies. My director has authorised the purchase of CR Server so problem resolved. My IT development team will deal with user passwords as well so no headache for me now!
