Displaying Excel/Word docs

Hope someone can help - it may be a really easy question....

I'm trying to display a Word or Excel doc through a Dreamweaver developed website and viewed with Inet Explorer 5.5. The doc needs to be stored in a separate harddrive for security, and will be updated daily by someone from outside the IT dept.

The Browser cannot open the application (Word or Excel) as this is not always available, and the document must be read only when viewed through the Browser.

Is there a way to do this? Any help appreciated.
