Within the application we are using, users are running into issues where records are beeing locked and they have no idea who it is. They must go to other units to have the person save the record.

In the 97 version, you could display a message box that user has the record locked.

in 2000/2002, this doesn't seem to be the case. It just states that the record is locked.

The application is using the jet security, how can we display the user who has the record locked (posibly without adding another field in the tables to track)

Any info would be appreciated.

Thank's for the info, though this will only tell me who logged on.

What I need is info on how to determine wich user has a record locked (as for the application uses an edit button) and display the users name on the screen for the user who is trying to access the locked record.

Something like John Doe has the record locked at this time.

Access 97 had this feature (VBA), though seems to of lost it with newer versions of access.
